The government policy builds on the existing foundation of 5+2 industrial innovation to create "six core strategic industries" to make Taiwan a key force in the future global economy. One of the core strategic industries, "artificial intelligence", is mainly to transform Taiwan from precision industries. The machinery has been upgraded to intelligent machinery and is developing towards intelligence. In order to meet the needs of the times, our school has applied for the establishment of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering.

On May 24th in 2021, the Ministry of Education officially approved that National Chin-Yi University of Technology to launch a new department - the Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering in August 2022 (111 academic year), and start recruiting students since the same year.
